Does anyone know of a photo studio in VA or DC that can be rented at low cost? I know a great photographer who has offered to do a new headshot for me, but he has no studio. Alternatively, does anyone know of a hs photograper in the area who is reasonable, and who does work similar to Robert Kim in NYC?

You could try to find a studio space on Model Mayhem. You or he can join for free. Many photographers are generous there and would help for a low cost or to join in the work experience.

I'm not sure what you mean by reasonable. There are many good photographers here but whether you find them reasonable or not is open for debate. My best headshot so far was acquired for free off of Model Mayhem with a friend's help.

For that style like Robert Kim, I would pay Antar Hanif in a heartbeat. Or Joe Henson, who is a favorite of many here and whom I like.

Roy Cox is great with those who look like models and he has excellent equipment, but I have not personally seen headshots of non-model types by him. Many here will tell you that he's skilled.

There are many others in town who are good, but don't know if they do that style.

Studio 400 is in Lorton, VA that you may be able to use. Also Louis Aargon is a photographer there and he does great work
