Let us now walk through the conversation with the accompanist as you place your music on the piano stand in front of him. (One suggestion as you do this—try to position yourself in a way that keeps your face open to the people behind the table as you talk to the pianist, rather than closing them off. First impressions are everything in this business, and this is important face time. You want them to be casting you as they see you being friendly with the pianist.”
