Actor Marketing vs. Actor Advertising – Knowing Which is Which and Why it’s Important by Sean Pratt

All too often actors confuse these two terms, not least because the people teaching them don’t understand the difference either. For most actors the journey they take in understanding what “marketing” or “advertising” means in relation to the BIZ will be a long and arduous one. There are plenty of, “Marketing for the Actor” classes to take out there, but most will leave you feeling that you have only been given a small piece of the overall picture or, worse, more confused about just what exactly these terms mean. But here are some concrete definitions that you can use in your efforts to understand the differences between marketing and advertising.
